About BaCT
Established at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre for over 30 years, the Centre for Biostatistics and Clinical Trials (BaCT) is one of two comprehensive cancer clinical trials centres in Australia with expertise in the design, conduct, analysis and interpretation of cancer clinical trials, retrospective studies and other clinical and laboratory cancer research data.
Leadership
Dr Dina Neiger commenced as the Director of BaCT in February 2009 and brings over 15 years of experience and a strong record of research and application in statistical theory and methods as well as extensive experience in mentoring statistical and multidisciplinary teams in development and implementation of complex statistical designs and analyses.
Role
Primarily, BaCT supports investigator driven research via
- provision of high quality biostatistical and data manager support to oncology researchers
- collaboration with collaborative groups in clinical trials, including Phase I trials, translational research programs and supportive care
- biostatistical and clinical trial methodological research.
Currently, BaCT is associated with 118 cancer clinical trials and is the trial centre for 58 multicentre trials http://www.petermac.org/CentreforBiostatisticsandClinicalTrials.
